Freemasonry, what’s it all about?

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest social and charitable organisations in the world. Its roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles. For Freemasons, there are four important values that help define their path through life: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity. In today’s world filled with uncertainty, these principles ring as true as they have at any point in the organisation’s history.

Temple of Uxbridge Lodge 7660

Originally the Lodge was to be called ‘The George Parker Lodge’ as a tribute to a Mason who had done so much for Masonry at the Masonic Temple in Uxbridge. This title was at the time unacceptable as the person to be honoured was still living. The present title arose after much discussion and was accepted by the Founders as entirely appropriate to honour the name originally suggested. The Lodge was consecrated on 29th September 1959.
